Thursday Night Thoughts

I'm feeling the need to just write tonight. Just let things go and get it out, whatever it is.

I've realized that I'm okay. This year was tough for me. Really, really tough. There were a lot of tears shed and many moments where I thought I couldn't feel any smaller and alone.

You know what, though? I'm okay.

I took a look around the other day, and I realized that things worked out for me in the best way possible. I really believe that. If anything, I've gained so much in the past year, I have so much going for me: so many wonderful people in my life giving me their constant love and support, so many opportunities, the means to accomplish what I've set out to do, and I'm happy. It's taken me a while to get here, but I'm so lucky. I'm in a really good place, and I'm excited for everything to come.

So tonight, I'm writing for people I love that are going through tough times.

For the girl who has a lesson to learn and doesn't need anyone's input. She's making great strides, but has a long road ahead of her, and I'll be here for her every step of the way.

For the boy who just wants a new start and a place to really call home, but is walking that shaky ground alone. I'm excited for him and this new chapter he's beginning, and I'll be here for him every step of the way.

For the boy with amazing potential who tries his hardest to be successful in everything he does and who wants to seize every opportunity, but can't see the end of a dark tunnel right at this moment. I want him to keep his chin up, not focus on the minuscule details, and know that everything will work out, and that I'll be here for him- next to him- every step of the way.

And for everyone else needing a little love and encouragement, be patient. Whatever you're waiting for is coming and, most likely, in a way that will surprise you.

Wish List Wednesday

Well, after the most ridiculous hiatus ever, Wish List Wednesday is back! At least, for this week it's back.

Kate Spade Round Lever-Back Earrings in clear
(So apparently those are sold out, but I'm kind of digging them in black, which are in stock. And they have these in clear, and apparently they're different than the ones above, but I can't tell. Again, I like those in black, too. Decisions, decisions!)

Anything from Brookish Handmade Goods
Especially this mug, or this mug, or one of these prints. Oh, P&P, how I love thee.

I really want some kind of "S" initial necklace, but there are about 72 million to choose from. If you know of a brand, store, etc. that sells good quality, somewhat unique initial necklaces, let me know!

A Royal Touch Crown Necklace from Threadsence

Floreali Cape Navy Blue Dress from Ruche

That's all I've got for right now. I'm sure I'll think of something else as soon as I publish this.

July Daybook

As always, join in the Daybook fun here.

Outside my window...
is a disgustingly hot, sunny, Dallas summer day.

I am thinking...
about nothing in particular at the moment. I'm in a pretty good mood today! :)

I am thankful...for the opportunity to travel.

From the learning rooms...
I've been busier than I have been since school ended in May. My online summer class just started, and getting back into the swing of things has been tough.

In the kitchen...smells like fish from the leftovers I just heated up for lunch. Yep, I'm the girl who microwaves fish at the office.

I am wearing...dark jeans, a leopard-print top, gold gladiator sandals, and my rose gold Fossil watch.

I am posts about my London trip. I promise I'll be a million times better about writing about it than I was about my trip to Spain.

I am see "Harry Potter" as soon as I can.

I am much of the stuff I need to do this weekend will actually get done. I have a feeling that tearing myself away from the pool and a good book will be impossible.

I am reading...The Help, and it's SO good. I wish I had more time to just bum around and read so that I could finish it.

I am be super productive this weekend.

I am looking forward to...going to Missouri in two weeks!

I am hearing...Pandora and the sound of the air conditioner trying to keep us cool in spite of this ridiculous heat.

Around the just like normal. My room, on the other hand, needs a little attention.

I am post-college. It's so close and yet so far!

One of my favorite a wonderful bedtime phone conversation with Boyfriend.

A few plans for the rest of the week: You mean weekend! What I have to do: Work on my summer class---What I want to do: Go to dinner/a movie with friends, lay by the pool and not move, and read...Decisions, decisions.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...Take me back♥IMG_4751

  1. Take a phone booth picture. The cheesier and more touristy it is, the better.
  2. Buy some sort of Royal Wedding memorabilia.  Again, the cheesier, the better.
  3. Have a traditional meal of fish and chips with a beer. It only counts if it's in a pub frequented by the locals.
Traditional English meal of Fish & Chips and Mushy Peas with a Stella
  4. Visit Platform 9&3/4.
  5. Take a Beatles-esque picture on Abbey Road.
  6. Find out the real meaning behind Fergie's "London Bridge" song. Hahahaha just kidding.
  7. Eat a macaron-or five-at Laduree in Harrod's. I've been told I have to try the caramel with salted butter, but I've also got my eye on the pistachio and Madagascar chocolate.
Our macarons from Laduree- I tried caramel with salted butter and pistachio.
  8. See something Jane Austen/Pride and Prejudice related. I would love to see her home, but it's a few hours outside of London, so I won't be able to, but I'll gladly settle for seeing something else about her and her works. Hopefully we'll stumble across something.
The Jane Austen Center in Bath- We actually passed Jane Austen's house on the way to Bath, but we were moving too fast for me to take a picture. Mission accomplished!
  9. I have a very specific list of souvenirs to get, so I must stick to it.
  10. My boss wants me to take a picture with a guard, so I'll go ahead and put that on here. If I can get him to crack a smile- even better.
  11. Take a Phi Mu-fabulous picture with one of the lion statues in Trafalgar Square.
You can't see the lion behind me, but I promise it's there!
  12. Fake a British accent at least once. Not to be rude or be a "stupid American," though. Just because I love them and I'm so jealous of people who have them.
  13. Sneak a picture or two inside Westminster Abbey. Apparently taking pictures inside isn't allowed, but come on, how do you expect people to refrain from taking pictures? It's amazing! I'll just make sure my flash is off when I'm taking the picture from inside my purse.
  14. Have high tea. I know this probably won't happen, but how cool would that be?
  15. Oh, I've already thought of something else. Order a drink on the plane because on my last trip overseas, I wasn't old enough yet, and nothing says vacation like an airplane cocktail.
    Bon Voyage Champagne
  16. Sing the beginning of One Republic's "Good Life" while at Piccadilly Circus.
I had such an amazing time in London, and I can't wait to post all about it! I'm proud of everything I was able to check off my list, but I still have a ways to go. Guess this means I'll have to make it back to London someday! :]
